  • Nicole Pratt, President

    Nicole Pratt has had an esteemed tennis-playing career spanning 19 years, reaching WTA career-high rankings of 35 in singles and 18 in doubles. Throughout this time Nicole represented Australia in Fed Cup competition from 1999 – 2007 and the Olympics in 2000 and 2004. Nicole’s passion for the sport can be shown through her off-court commitments during this time, including WTA Player Council representative 2000 – 2008 and Board Director Player Representative 2008 – 2012. She has been recognised with Player Service Awards in 1999, 2000, and 2004. Since retiring from her playing career Nicole has been working with our next generation of Australian players through roles as the AIS Women’s Tennis head coach and her current role; Head of Women’s Tennis Australia and Fed Cup Coach. Nicole is also a mother of two children and has been a member of the Foundation since 2016.

  • Su Jella, Vice President

    Su is the Director of Data and Insights at Tennis Australia, an established leader with over 12 years experience in the field of Data and Analytics. She’s lead various teams and corporates at the departmental, practice and organisational level to help them tackle data challenges and build solutions that transform and mature data practices by analysing and retiring legacy systems and establishing forward thinking processes and frameworks based on real time information. These processes and frameworks align with business strategies to deliver insights that clearly define customers by directing communications, customer experience, organisational structure and enabling organisations to build relationships, teams and systems for the future. Su leads organisations on an evolution with their customers and the market utilising transformational techniques and solutions that help to achieve current and future data demands. She’s delivered end-to-end solutions in analytics for corporates and teams by delivering insights and strategies aligned with business goals for greater profit and customer experience. Su was recognised as Australia’s Top 25 Analytics Leaders in 2022 by IAPA.

  • Gabriela Aguiard, Treasurer

    Gabriela’s corporate career in financial statements audit, internal control, policy, risk management and quality span nearly three decades in Australia and Europe. Gabriela worked with professionals across many industries including telecommunications, consumer goods, education and not for profit sectors. Gabriela is passionate about mentoring young people and social entrepreneurs and creates visual art in her spare time. She is a proud mother of two sporty boys, one of which is a US college tennis player.

  • Sherryn Dove, Secretary

    A committee member since 2012, Sherryn brings a wealth of finance, administration, fundraising, and event management experience with her to the Board. Utilising this experience along with her work at Australian Tennis Magazine and Edgley Smylie Sports Management, Sherryn has invaluable insights from the tennis and sporting sector.

  • Caroline Chernov

    Caroline brings to the Women’s Tennis Foundation more than 25 years of experience in tackling complex social problems with entrepreneurial thinking and cross-sector, international collaboration. Caroline’s commitment to innovation stems from her trail of executive director and board appointments with local and international corporations, foundations, universities, NGOs, venture philanthropy, impact investment firms, and social enterprise start-ups. Blending her commitment to social change and her passion for tennis, Caroline is dedicated to strengthening the Foundation’s influence in creating supportive conditions in the world’s grand slam cities for girls and women to participate, engage and pursue career pathways in tennis.

  • Dianne Evers

    Dianne is a former professional player on the WTA tour. During her professional playing career, Dianne represented Australia and reached a career-high WTA ranking of 52. She competed in all the major tournaments, Wimbledon, French Open, US Open, and Australian Open. The highlight of her career winning the Australian Open Women’s Doubles in 1979. After living abroad and a successful career coaching tennis professionally in the USA for over 25 years, Dianne has recently returned home to Australia, resides on the Gold Coast, and continues to coach tennis at KDV Sport.

  • Megan Hannan

    Megan has been an active member of the Women's Tennis Foundation since 2020 and brings with her wide-ranging experience in marketing, communications, engagement and strategy developed across the for-purpose, sporting, and government sectors. She has worked extensively with membership-based organisations focused on creating positive and lasting social impact and change. Megan is passionate about creating positive opportunities for girls and women and developing clear pathways and opportunities to empower girls to pursue their passions.

  • Helen Rice

    Helen Rice has had over 39 years of experience being the owner/manager of the Helen Rice Tennis School. She is a full-time TA Qualified Club Professional tennis coach and has won the Tennis SA Club coach of the year in 2013 and 2016/17. In 2017 she won the Newcombe Medal Award for Club Coach excellence. Helen is a highly motivated, passionate coach who inspires girls and women to do their best.

  • John Arnold

    John is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and returns to the Committee after serving previously for 9 years. John was on the organising committee for the Fed Cup tie against Switzerland in Mildura and was involved as a volunteer in the pro tennis circuit with Mildura Lawn Tennis Club and hosted many players at this tournament. He was also a driving force in the instigation of the Scholarship program for young women in tennis by the Women’s Tennis Foundation, which has been a huge success.

  • Maria Bailey

    Maria is a registered Psychologist (Educational and Developmental), former professional level tennis player, attended a USA college, Tennis Australia Coach, Secondary Teacher trained, and a parent of six children. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor and has worked in a variety of settings including schools, clubs, sessional lecturing, and in private practice. With a wealth of life experience, a healthy dose of good humour, and a serve of positivity, Maria promotes a professional, caring, collaborative and therapeutic relationship that celebrates diversity, inclusivity and respectful relationships. A lifelong learner, Maria is dynamic, nurturing and passionate about celebrating each individual along their journey of life (children / adolescents / adults/ aged) and promotes well-being along each stage of transition. Maria is currently in a private practise and located at Jasper Health in Bentleigh, Melbourne. Maria celebrates applying her diverse range of skills, and enjoys supporting aspiring, elite and professional tennis players, promoting a person-centred approach to assist in personal best and team performances, mental health & wellbeing. Maria is also passionate about educating, parents, tennis coaches, schools, and the wider community. Maria recently completed the Women Leaders in Tennis Program and applied her learnings in supporting, empowering and the celebrating social and emotional development of teenagers in tennis.
