Olivia Gadecki

Inaugural Women's Tennis Foundation Scholarship Recipient

2016 & 2018 Women's Tennis Foundation Scholarship Player

I am a 20 year old tennis player from the Gold Coast, Australia. I started playing tennis at the ripe age of 3 due to my 4 older brothers who were playing at the time. I am 1 of 6 children, being the only girl. I was brought up by my mum who is the most amazing women. She is everything I aspire to be. Without her I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I definitely wouldn’t have this opportunity to grow and challenge myself in this sport I love.

The Women’s Tennis Foundation has played a big part in my tennis career thus far. It means so much to me that I am apart of the Women’s Tennis Foundation, it’s something I will cherish forever. The constant support never goes unnoticed.

The funding allowed me to gain experience by travelling and competing world class tournaments around the world. Last year I spent 8.5 months overseas competing, where I learnt some of the most important things when it comes to being a professional tennis player and also person. I am currently ranked 166 (WTA) in the world for singles. I started 2021 unranked.  Within the next couple of weeks I will be heading off to France to compete in the French open qualifying event. I will then proceed to the grass court swing where I will compete at Wimbledon for the first time, which is so very exciting.
