As an Aussie tennis player, smoothie enthusiast, and dog lover through and through, I was practically raised on a tennis court with a long family history of love for the game; and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I made my first ‘Australian’ team at 12 years old and ever since I’ve been chasing my dreams across the globe in ITF’s, WTA tournaments and Grand Slams. In 2019 I had my first top 10 win at home at the Brisbane International and by the end of the summer, I found myself on Rod Laver Arena facing former Australian Open Champion Angelique Kerber in the 3rd Round of the Australian Open. Of all the experiences I’ve had in my career so far, the moment I received my Fed Cup number (48) is my absolute favourite and competing for my country in green and gold will always be one of my most valued achievements.

Unfortunately, over the last few years I’ve had a few run-ins with an elbow injury, which has needed two surgeries. Even though I struggled in my time away from tennis, I was able to focus a little more on some other things that I’m passionate about; especially the “women in sport” movement and starting a degree in Communications at Griffith University. In my time off-court, I’ve had the opportunity to visit schools and sporting clubs across the county, sharing personal stories, giving out tennis racquets, and encouraging kids to live active and healthy lifestyles through sport. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Tennis Australia in the “Females in Tennis” initiatives, I am a mentor for the “WTA Future Stars” a camp which brings together the best up and coming junior tennis players to give them an idea of what life is like on the WTA tour, a team manager for “Super 10’s” which is an opportunity for high performing under 10 players to participate in a group setting, and an ambassador for Tennis Australia’s “Play For You” campaign which encourages girls to stay in sport. I’m super proud to be a female athlete and hope to be able to make a positive impact in my community as my career progresses, shedding more light on body image, self-confidence, fear of judgement, and other barriers holding back young women from playing sport, whether for fun or following their dreams, while following my own.
